Edel: terms, privacy and risks
Version 2026-10-31. This document is updated together with the code: if a feature is removed from the code, it is removed here too. The current version is always on this page.
1. Terms of Service
1.1. What this is
Edel is a client for end-to-end encrypted messages and files, and paid access to the service features. The server stores encrypted data and technical metadata; it cannot read message contents.
1.2. Access and payment
- Access is provided for USDC on the Base network at current prices, which may change at any time. Payment goes directly to the treasury address shown on the home page.
- Paid access is a digital service; refunds are not provided unless expressly stated otherwise.
- We may suspend, restrict or terminate access for rule violations, abuse, technical necessity or legal requirements.
- We are not obliged to provide access, retain data or maintain any particular feature.
1.3. Prohibited
- Violating the law, third-party rights, sanctions or platform rules.
- Attempting to bypass encryption, limits, payments or referral rules, or attacking the service or its contracts.
- Using the service for fraud, money laundering or financing prohibited activity.
1.4. Liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses, lost profits, data loss, blocking of a wallet or asset, or the actions of USDC issuers, smart contracts and third-party services. You are responsible for keeping your keys and passwords safe and for lawful use.
1.5. Changes
We may change these terms, features, prices, referral percentages and payout rules at any time. A new version takes effect when published on this page. Continued use means acceptance.
1.6. Calls and video
Calls and video are available 1:1 only between accepted contacts; one active call at a time. They are not intended for emergency services. Recording, transcription and screen sharing are not supported. Media is carried over WebRTC with DTLS-SRTP encryption; when a direct connection is impossible, a TURN server relays only the encrypted stream. Availability depends on the network, TURN and device permissions. You are responsible for the legality of calls and the other party's consent.
2. Privacy Policy
2.1. What data is processed
- Account identifier (public key/address), profile name, settings.
- The wallet address linked to the account and public blockchain data (transactions are visible to everyone).
- Technical logs: time, request type, errors and IP to the extent necessary for operation and protection.
- Messages, files, contacts and history — encrypted; the server has no decryption keys.
2.2. Why
To provide access, deliver messages, pay referral rewards, prevent abuse, comply with lawful requirements and maintain the service.
2.3. Who we share with
Only infrastructure providers (hosting, RPC, minimal analytics) and under lawful requirements. We do not sell personal data. Blockchain transactions are public by nature and cannot be deleted.
2.4. Retention and rights
We keep data while the account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion — for security, audit and legal reasons. You may request account deletion; encrypted data is removed while public blockchain records remain. Requests go through the contacts on the site.
2.5. Calls and video
To establish and maintain a call we process: participants, time, duration, type (audio/video), traffic volume, IP addresses and ports (via ICE/TURN), and connection state. Signalling (SDP/ICE) travels in end-to-end envelopes; the server does not store call state or log SDP/ICE. Media is protected by DTLS-SRTP; TURN relays the encrypted stream and cannot decrypt it. Call recordings are not stored. TURN credentials are short-lived and the secret is not sent to the client. IP addresses may be revealed to the other party via ICE; a relay-only mode is available on the web.
3. Risk Disclosure (USDC, Base)
- Payment is irreversible. A USDC transfer on Base cannot be cancelled. Check the address, network and amount: sending to the wrong network or address means losing the funds.
- Credits are issued after confirmation. An invitation package is activated after the transfer is confirmed (manually/watcher); delays are possible. Keep the transaction hash.
- Smart contracts and the network. Bugs, exploits, network congestion and fee spikes are possible; the sender pays the transaction gas.
- USDC is centralized. The issuer may freeze an address or transfers; this is outside our control.
- No KYC. We do not verify identity; you are responsible for taxes, legality and sanctions in your jurisdiction.
- Calls are not for emergency services. Availability depends on the network, TURN server and device permissions; a connection may drop.
- IP addresses and TURN. ICE candidates may reveal IP addresses to the other party; use relay-only to hide them. TURN sees connection metadata (who/when/volume), not media content.
4. Referral Program
- Rewards are paid only for actual USDC (Base) access payments, not for registrations or invitations.
- Indicative scheme: L1 12%, L2 6%, L3 4%, L4 3% — up to 27% of the payment; the system receives the rest. Accrual and payout happen after the transfer is confirmed under the published rules. Percentages, depth, mechanics and timing may change.
- Self-referral, fake accounts, farming, tree bypass and abuse are prohibited. Violation means cancellation of accruals and a ban.
- Taxes on payouts are the recipient's responsibility. There is no income guarantee; “everyone earns” does not mean every share will be significant.
5. Contacts
For questions about terms, privacy and payouts — use the contacts shown on the Edel home page. If you do not agree to the terms, do not use the service.
